  • 12 oz chow mein noodles, uncooked
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 large carrot, julienned
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 6 tbsp mushroom sauce
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together mushroom sauce, granulated sugar, soy sauce, chicken broth, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Cook chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under cold water; set aside.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Cut chicken into bite-sized strips and cook until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add remaining oil and sauté the carrots, cabbage, and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  5. Return cooked chicken and noodles to the pan, pour in the prepared sauce, stir well to combine, and cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through.
