  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix blueberries with cornstarch and lemon juice; set aside.
  3. Beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the puff pastry and top with the blueberry mixture. Cut strips along both sides of the pastry about an inch apart and braid by folding strips alternately from each side. Brush with beaten egg.
  5. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Whisk together powdered sugar and milk for glaze; drizzle over cooled braid before serving.
