  • 12 oz wontons (frozen or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ cup neutral oil (for chili oil)
  • ¼ cup red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Cinnamon stick (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the chili oil: Combine chili flakes, sesame seeds, minced garlic, minced ginger, sugar, salt, and a cinnamon stick in a heat-safe bowl. Heat the neutral oil until hot and pour over the mixture.
  2. Sauté aromatics: In a large pot, melt coconut oil over medium heat. Add the white parts of the green onions, garlic, and ginger; sauté until fragrant.
  3. Simmer broth: Pour in your choice of broth; bring to a bubble and simmer for about 5 minutes.
