  • 1/4 cup (21g) natural unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (107g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (99g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (85g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (regular or mini size)
  • 1/2 cup chopped caramel squares
  • 1/2 cup (57g) chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with a silicone mat.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda.
  3. Cream softened butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips, caramel pieces, and chopped pecans (reserve some for topping).
  6. Scoop out dough onto the prepared baking sheet, pressing reserved toppings on each ball.
  7. Bake for 10-14 minutes until set around the edges but soft in the center.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
