Sticky Sesame Cauliflower is a delightful dish that packs a punch of flavor with every bite. This easy-to-make recipe features crispy cauliflower florets coated in a luscious sweet and spicy sesame sauce, making it perfect for any occasion, whether as a main course or an impressive side dish.

  • 1 medium cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1/3 cup rice flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder, optional
  • 1/31/4 cup water
  • 1.5 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice apple vinegar
  • 12 tbsp sriracha sauce, adjust to taste
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, finely minced
  • 45 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
  • 23 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • spring onions, chopped for garnish
  • sliced chillis for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together rice flour, cornstarch, garlic powder (if using), and water until smooth.
  3. Toss cauliflower in the batter until evenly coated. Place on a parchment-lined baking tray.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Meanwhile, mix sesame oil, soy sauce, vinegar, sriracha, ginger, garlic, honey (or maple syrup), cornstarch, and water in another bowl until combined.
  6. Toss baked cauliflower in the sauce until fully coated and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions before serving.
