Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces linguine or fettuccine
  • 1/2 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • Sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a bowl, season shrimp and chicken with Cajun seasoning. Sear chicken in a skillet over medium-high heat until golden brown; remove from skillet.
  3. Cook shrimp until pink; set aside with chicken.
  4. Sauté bell peppers in remaining oil until softened; add minced garlic and cook briefly.
  5. In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour to create a roux. Gradually add chicken broth and cream while whisking until smooth.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper; simmer until thickened.
  7. Combine proteins and sautéed vegetables into the sauce; toss with cooked pasta.
