Ingredients

Scale

1 lb lump crab meat
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 large eggs
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon minced garlic
Juice of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, cheddar cheese, eggs, breadcrumbs, green onions, parsley, mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix carefully to avoid breaking up the crab too much.
  • Shape the mixture into patties, about 3 inches wide. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for 15 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  • Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat. Cook the crab cakes for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and heated through.
  • While the crab cakes cook, prepare the lemon butter drizzle. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the lemon juice and garlic powder until well combined.
  • Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a serving platter.
  • Drizzle with warm lemon butter and serve immediately.
