  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups shredded phyllo dough (kataifi)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add egg, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil; mix until smooth. Gradually stir in hot coffee.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Let the cake cool; prepare the kataifi filling by toasting it with butter until crispy and mixing it with pistachio cream.
  6. For the ganache, melt chocolate with heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  7. Layer the pistachio filling on the cooled cake and pour ganache over it before serving.
