  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté chicken pieces seasoned with salt and pepper until browned; set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant. Add carrots and celery, cooking until slightly softened.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet along with frozen peas. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well.
  5. Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring continuously until smooth; bring to a simmer.
  6. Mix in orzo, thyme, and rosemary; cook until orzo is tender.
  7. Pour into an oven-proof dish, cover with rolled-out puff pastry, sealing edges.
  8. Brush with beaten egg for golden color and bake for 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
