Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose leaf)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk (any type)
  • 45 fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 12 teaspoons vanilla syrup
  • Optional: 1 cinnamon stick, ice for iced version

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the cherries with 2 tablespoons of water. Simmer over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until soft, then mash gently with a fork.
  2. In another pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add the Earl Grey tea bag or loose leaf and steep for 3-5 minutes before removing.
  3. Pour the milk into the saucepan with the cherry mixture and add an optional cinnamon stick. Heat gently while stirring until warmed through.
  4. Stir in the vanilla syrup into the milk-cherry mix.
  5. Pour the brewed Earl Grey tea into your mug and strain in the cherry-milk mixture, pressing down on cherries to extract all juices. Stir well and serve hot or over ice.
