  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (100 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 medium apple, peeled and finely chopped
  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture without overmixing.
  6. Gently fold in chopped apples until evenly distributed in the dough.
  7. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl for rolling.
  8. Roll tablespoon-sized portions of dough into balls and coat them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
